The 24th Annual International UFO Conference 2015 (IUFOC) — The Best One Yet!

We left Minneapolis early Tuesday morning (Feb 17, 2015).  It was 3 degrees F when we boarded.  Southwest is an awesome airline … the best we have flown nationally.  A smooth, quick flight, three and one half hours later we landed at Sky Harbor International in Phoenix, AZ and were welcomed by a beautiful, sunshiny 70 degrees (later in the day it got up around 82 degrees). What a GREAT change from the past 3 months of cold and snow we were putting up with!

My wonderful sister-in-law, Jane, picked us up at the airport and drove us to our rental car location.  We used to just grab a car at the airport car rental, but you can save 25% or more by going into town and renting at an offsite car rental location so this makes total sense for the fiscally conservative crowd. This year it was Enterprise … we had a premium car lined up. We walked in, gave our confirmation number, and they said they had a mini-Cooper there for us. A WHAT!?! Excuse me, but I rented and confirmed a premium car, not a toy metal box! I’m 6’2″ and prefer a little leg room! They tried their darnedest to convince me that it was good, but I was having no part of it. They then said they didn’t have anything else but would call around to see what else might be available. A few minutes later they said they had located a brand new Ford Taurus (the new ones are pretty nice actually) but it was 40 minutes away in Scottsdale. I assured them that was OK and we’d go grab a bite to eat while they went and grabbed it for us. SO … we went and ate at Chick-fil-A (man, I LOVE their food and their exceptional service) and the rental people reluctantly went to get us the car that should have been there for us in the first place.

After an hour we went back to Enterprise and grabbed our new Taurus, and headed off to my brother’s home in Mesa. Got settled in and then went and saw “the fam”: Mom, my sister and her boyfriend, one niece and her daughter and, of course, my brother Jimco and his wife, Jane. Ate a Chinese dinner (calories kill us on these trips!) and went back to get some sleep and rest before the show tomorrow.

Wednesday morning we headed to Fountain Hills where the IUFOC takes place. The speakers and presentations today were as follows:

  • Clifford Mahooty The Zuni Pueblo Indian People and the UFO Connection
  • Thomas Reed The Reed Family Abduction
  • Cheryl Costa 200 Years of UFOs Over New York
  • Joan BirdLifting the Lid In Montana and Beyond
  • Linda Zimmerman – Hudson Valley UFOs

Clifford Mahooty‘s presentation was good and thought-provoking. It’s always very fascinating to me to listen to the Indian legends and stories they tell which have been handed down by mouth for millennia (or at least hundreds of years).

Thomas Reed‘s lecture pertained to a very significant case from the 1960s. Another well-done presentation. You can view details of this case here: http://tinyurl.com/lle8uox

Cheryl Costa was a ‘new face’ in the UFO lecture circuit for me. I had not heard of Cheryl before, but found she is an excellent speaker and presenter. She is an author at the Syracuse New Times and does an excellent job. She has 2 new fans 🙂  She’s authentic and captivates your interest well. I believe this was a first UFO speaking event and I must say, “Bravo, Cheryl!”

Joan Bird‘s talk was about UFO sightings in the 1950s and later in Montana and quite interesting.

Linda Zimmerman‘s presentation was also very interesting on the various UFO sightings around the Hudson Valley dating from a century ago and through the present.

In between and after presentations, we spent some time walking around and talking with exhibitors and authors in the exhibit hall where there was everything from T-Shirts to DVDs to alien sculptures to books, crystals, metaphysical objects, and much more. One can get lost in the fascinating items and people there. This is a big part of the attraction of attending this conference.

On day two of the IUFOC, Thursday (and each day thereafter), we started with an ‘Experiencer Session’. These are some of the most fascinating sessions we have ever been to, and we make it a point to hit them all at each conference we attend. The stories you hear that others have experienced range from comical to hair-raising, and there’s never a dull moment. Complete anonymity is required so no names, pictures or recordings are allowed. We also brought Jane, my sister-in-law, along with us for the day. We happened to meet up with friends we had made a few years ago at an earlier IUFOC, Michael and Jenny … two very nice Californian people that attend the IUFOC each year. It’s always a pleasure to meet up with others you have met. Yvonne Smith, hypnotherapist and regression specialist, headed up the experiencer sessions this year. Yvonne does an excellent job and it’s always nice to see her there and sit in on her sessions.

Speaker list for Thursday:

  • James ClarksonFinding June Crain.
  • Derrel SimsProfiling the Alien: His History and Our Evidence Tells the Story
  • Christopher O’BrienStalking the Herd: Unraveling the Cattle Mutilation Mystery
  • Charlie FoltzThe Allagash Abductions
  • PanelRare Cases of Mass Alien Abductions

I had not heard of June Crain before so James Clarkson‘s presentation was quite informative.

Derrel Sim‘s presentation was somewhat different than what we normally hear, but fascinating. We had a fairly lengthy conversation with Derrel the day before in the exhibit hall and he is a very interesting and knowledgeable person with a background in law enforcement. He also has been on Animal Planet’s “Uncovering Aliens” along with Maureen Elsberry (who puts on the IUFOC), Mike Bara (‘Ancient Aliens’ contributor and author) and Steven Jones (Contactee). Derrel let us know that he is involved in another bigger and better “show” that will be coming out later this year — (can’t wait, Derrel!)

Christopher O’Brien‘s lecture covered a LOT of new information. He seems to be at odds a bit with Linda Moulton-Howe who is very well known for her years of research in cattle mutilations, but was certainly worth listening to and digesting the information he had to present.

‘The Allagash Abductions’, presented by Charlie Foltz, was fantastic.  I recall reading about it many years ago. Charlie is just so very believable, and I truly believe the experience he told everyone about. Chilling, yet amazing!

After eating dinner at a small Italian eatery with Jane and our Californian friends, we went back to the convention center for a night of unreleased, brand-new UFO/Alien films that will be coming out this year — that is, until we couldn’t keep our eyes open any longer. Excellent films, though. I think Jane really enjoyed the day and may be back with us next year.

Day Three, Friday. The lineup was:

  • Ruben UriarteBorder Crossing of the Third Kind
  • James GillilandAnnunaki Return: End of the Draconian/Archon Network
  • Joshua P. WarrenThe Brown Mountain Lights
  • Mark PilkintonThe Abuses of Enchantment
  • PanelUFO Jeopardy

Ruben Uriarte‘s lecture brought up some old memories of what I have read in the past as well as a bunch of new information. Essentially it was about alien craft crashes that have happened along the southwest border between the US and Mexico.

I had not had the pleasure of listening to James Gilliland in the past. James is a best-selling author, nationally-known lecturer, minister, counselor and contactee. He has a weekly radio program that is listened to by people around the world, and his website can be found at http://www.eceti.org.  He had great information to relay to everyone and was a pleasure to listen to.

Day Four, Saturday.

  • Richard DolanUFO’s the Real Power Struggle and the End Game
  • Jaime Maussan Breaking News
  • Jeremy CorbellThe Invisible College
  • George KnappArea 51 Whistleblower
  • Bob LazarQ&A Session with George Knapp

What UFO conference is complete without a lecture from Richard Dolan? He did an excellent and professional job as he always does. I’ve read Richard’s books and he is a great writer as well.

I’ve seen Jaime Maussan many times and he always has a ton of new information on sightings and instances around the world. Jaime is a very well known television personality in Mexico.

Then (WOW!) George Knapp! George is an investigative reporter for KLAS TV where he has earned the highest honors in broadcast journalism, including two Peabody awards, the Dupont Award from Columbia University, and 24 regional Emmy’s. His presentation was a brief history on Bob Lazar. George had a room full of attendees … I don’t think there was an empty chair anywhere, and after just a few minutes, one knows why!

Last, the presentation of the day that so many of us were waiting for: Bob Lazar doing a special Q&A session along with George Knapp. I haven’t heard from Bob Lazar in a long, long time, so this was a real treat. His story is fascinating and, while I admittedly have been a little bit of a skeptic concerning him in the past, I’ve gained more faith after listening to him in that he is telling the truth about what he has experienced and been a part of.

Lastly, day five, Sunday:

  • Frank KimblerXenoarchaeology: The Science of Hunting Alien Artifacts
  • John BurroughsThe Rendlesham Incident
  • PanelUFO Secrets Leaked: Whistleblowers Tell All

We were not able to attend the 5th day this year as we had to leave for another engagement, but the 4 days we did do were simply spectacular! All in all, it was a wonderful conference, as always … even better than the last. Maureen Elsberry did tell me that next year the IUFO Conference would take place again in Fountain Hills, AZ. and that was refreshing to hear as we love the venue as well as the area (not to mention the warmth and sunshine in February as opposed to here in Wisconsin!). I hope she and ‘Open Minds Production, LLC’ can keep it there indefinitely as the mysticism of the place and the beauty seem to go so well with this conference. I’ll be here in my office patiently (or not) waiting for the sale of tickets to the 25th Annual UFO Congress to be made available!

A Strange Sighting from 2 Different Viewpoints

I’m going relay a personal UFO sighting my daughter and I had a few years back – some 16 years ago. What makes this sighting amazing and quite different from other sightings I have heard and read about is that we both remember something similar, yet different, having taken place. I seemed to see things she did not, and vice versa. This could be just the way different human beings interpret events that are odd, or it could be that some force caused us to see slightly different occurances. Either way, here is my version, and then her version, of the same exact event:

MY VERSION
It was around 10pm on a balmy summer evening in 1998. My daughter, around 16 years old at that time, and I were driving back from taking her friend home. After dropping her friend off, we were headed east on one of the many granite roads in Central Wisconsin. We were enjoying the warm weather in “the Batmobile”, a nickname one of her friends gave my 1988 Camero with a T-Top. The wind was blowing in our hair and we were just enjoying the ride home. We were only about 5 miles from our house when I noticed a strange light out to the left and slightly ahead of us. I slowed the car down and pointed the light out to her and she, too, saw it. Something didn’t seem right about this light in the sky so I eased the car over to the side of the road, opened the door and stepped out, standing by the car and staring at this object in order to get a better look. The light appeared to be some sort of craft – the outline of the craft was very hard to make out in the dark night sky, but it was moving very slowly to the west, almost hovering, over a farm about 1/4 mile north of where we were stopped. It seemed to be about 150 – 200′ up in the sky, although height distances in the evening are hard to judge. I recall Mary being rather nervous and wanting to leave while we were standing there on the side of the road with this unknown object up there in they sky — it did feel as if we were quite vulnerable out there by ourselves in the dark on a lonely back road.

I recall a slight buzzing noise coming from the object and to my amazement what appeared to be a door of some sort opening up slowly on the side of the craft — a triangular door which was pointed at the top and wider at the bottom. It just stood still there with this door opening with brilliant light coming from the inside. Both myself and Mary were by then ready to leave the area in a very rapid manner and that’s exactly what we did. Not knowing what this was did make me quite a bit nervous, I must admit.

We sped to our home where my wife was and I told her about what we just experienced. Her and I jumped back into the car so I could find and show her this object in the sky as we are both UFO afficianados. We drove up to where Mary and I had seen it; it couldn’t have been but 6-8 minutes later, but nothing was there now. We drove along that road trying to locate that light but we saw nothing. We must have spent some 30 minutes driving all over the back roads trying to locate it — no luck.

I have never seen anything like this since but I still watch closely every time I am out in the evening, be it sitting outside star-gazing at home or driving around the country-side. I have thought about this incident long and hard and tried to determine if there was something I was missing — if there was any time I could not account for, or any additional memories pertaining to it that may pop back up. I do not recall anything else and I do not believe there was any missing time.

I am fairly certain this object we saw was not normal. While common sense tells me that it is certainly possible we misinterpreted a sighting of a conventional craft that evening, I seriously doubt that. I’ve tried to reason and tell myself it was a helicopter, but I know it was not because not only am I very familiar with helicopters, I know what sort of sound they make. They do not buzz. The only flying object that I know of that makes a sort of buzzing noise is an ultralight although an ultralight at that close distance would have been much, much louder. Additionally, I do not think anyone would be up in the sky in the evening with an ultralight, and I’m pretty confident there are no ultralights with triangular-shaped opening doors. And, on top of that, I do not know of any ultralights that can all but hover. By defintion, what we experienced was an unidentified flying object, a UFO.

MARY’s VERSION
I grew up gazing into the night sky. Whether a moment of reflection or appreciation, or a dedicated evening, I watched, observed and waited. I knew every constellation and every major star. I knew the milkiness of the Milky Way, and the sight of the satellites as they putted along their many paths.

It was in my blood. I developed my love of the sky, and what lie beyond, from my father, who would pick out the constellations with me, and wonder aloud if life really did exist out there. Together, we spent countless hours watching through the telescope, and feeding off each other’s excitement at the possibilities of the unknown. It wasn’t uncommon for us to pull the car off to the side of a back road, while traveling here or there, and look deep into the cosmos, or examine some aircraft or unknown light source in the sky.

One night, after taking a friend of mine home, we did just that. Something had caught our eyes, and we wanted to investigate. So, we got out of the car, and looked up. Whatever it was, it didn’t make a sound as it passed over us, high up in the sky. And although it wasn’t terribly near, it was close enough for me to see that it was rectangular, and its underside looked like the circuitry on a motherboard, but mostly colorless – grey and black.

From the moment we first spotted it, I had been scared. Several minutes of my dad standing and staring at it had passed before I even got out of the car. And upon emerging and examining further, I still wanted to leave, and said so over and over as it moved nearly out of sight.

So, we did. We got in the car and went home to tell my mom what had happened. But upon doing so, we noticed a very peculiar thing – my memory differed from that of my father’s. He had experienced something more – something that, to this day, I can’t recall.

Looking back on this experience, several questions cross my mind – Scully-like questions, that help to explain why our memories differ.

Did something happen that, because of my fear, my mind protected me from? Did my father slip into a daydream and see something that wasn’t real / was only in his mind? Did something happen to him that did not happen to me? Does the eye see what the mind wants to?

Our experience – both that which is shared, and that which diverges – may never be fully explained or understood. But we still look up into the night sky, in search of answers, calmed by the beauty of the universe, and intrigued by the endless possibilities that abound, both in our minds and out there.

So, there you have it. The same event, yet different interpretations for whatever reasons. Is there any possible additional things that happened during our sighting that neither of us remember? Could our minds be supressing part of that night’s happenings? We may never know. What we do know is we both saw something at the same time that we cannot explain and is very unlikely to have been conventional aircraft. Hopefully some day we will have more answers.

UFOs (or something) Around The World

Each week there are hundreds of reported UFO sightings from around the world. Most turn out to be explainable as natural phenomenon or military aircraft, but dozens are left unexplained, even after careful examination by professional investigators. What they are we simply do not know. Due to the amount of unexplained sightings that continues since at least the late 1800’s, one must conclude there is something out there visiting us that we do not yet understand. Are these crafts and beings from another world here visiting earth as sightseers? Could they be time travelers here to witness past history, or, perhaps, change history for some unknown reason? Is it possible they are inter-dimensional beings coming through ‘portals’ that our knowledge of physics cannot yet explain?

One of the more prevalent theories currently being discussed is that these sightings and apparitions are demonic — demons from hell sent to confuse human beings. The belief is that what is known as “the last days” are about to begin and God has allowed demons to be loosed upon the earth to test man’s faith right before the Second coming.

Image

Certainly some of the descriptions of what we call ‘alien beings’ are frightening. Many of the stories of abductions are living nightmares that people allegedly have had to endure and then relive on a daily basis — people such as Travis Walton. I’ve attended a few of Travis’ lectures as well as watched the movie ‘Fire In The Sky’ which was based upon Travis’ experience, and let me assure you, that poor gentleman, if what he relays is factual (and I have no reason to believe it is not), has endured hell on earth, not only during his abduction, but the ridicule he has been forced to live with since his story came out. I cannot imagine, and do not ever want to experience, the apparent horror he has survived.

Other abduction stories, like those of Whitley Strieber in his books “Communion” and “Transformation”, seem disturbing at best, and also seem to be on some level demonic. Try to imagine being woken up in the middle of the night with no motor control in your body, with arms and legs that will not move, but total awareness of what is happening, and then being taken aboard what appears to be an alien craft and having medical procedures run on you by beings that you know should not exist! That must be frightening beyond belief! Many people are scared of the mere thought of the unknown; imagine being forced to experience it first hand with no control over what is happening. That has to be much, much worse. There was a movie was out a few years ago called “The Fourth Kind”, allegedly based on true events in Alaska, and after watching it, I will state that movie has captured the fear that people would have during such an abduction better than anything else I have ever seen – a fear that drove a man to commit suicide so he could no longer be abducted. A fear that not only caused him to take his own life to prevent future abductions, but also to be so terrified for his wife and children that he would kill them first to ensure they would never have to endure the mental anguish of an alien abduction that he has. I shudder thinking about this because if these abductions are factual occurrences, those being abducted have essentially no control over what is happening to them – there is not a thing they can do to stop it from happening, to prevent it – nothing, nada, nil!

If these are demon visitations, then something certainly must be coming up as it seems this is phenomenon that is fairly new, within only the last 125 years, and it seems to be escalating. Is this the prelude to the Second Coming? Or, is it something completely different that we are yet to understand.

Image

Now, of course these visitations could be entirely something else – they could be simply beings from another world, or, perhaps, worlds. If they are aliens from other areas of our universe, it seems there are many different species visiting us from the reports and our human logic tells us that means they are coming from many different planets or areas of space. One then wonders what the odds are that all these

different types of beings are visiting us in this rather thin slice of time? When one contemplates the necessary advancement in science and technology a civilization would have to have in order to arrive here from the stars as opposed to what our current technology here on Earth, it could be that these aliens studying us is like comparing a human mind to that of an ant and that is a bit scary as well. If we are but ‘bugs’ to advanced species, would they act any different towards us than we act toward, say, ants? Ponder that for a bit.

Another possibility is that the visitors that are reported are us, but from the future. They may be far more highly evolved than we are in our timeline and are coming back either to experience their own history, or to understand why we are what we currently are, and maybe even to change history in a way that helps themselves in the future. Perhaps they have all but died out, or are dying out, and with some genetic manipulation they believe they can prevent that from happening. Certainly some of the stories of abductions does suggest that they are genetically creating a hybrid version of man and alien.

Whatever they may be, the unknown factor is cause for concern. Whether they are aliens from another planet, beings from another dimension, our own descendants from far in our future, or demons or demonic apparitions, we certainly are the inferior species, at least in the technology arena. That means should they decide to do us harm, we most likely do not stand a chance. We need to openly research this subject and drop the ridicule so many people receive that come forward with experiences, such as what Travis Walton has endured. We need to use the scientific methodology we currently have to try and understand what and/or whom they are, and then how to proceed. This is going to mean the world needs to unite and work together on this investigation and leave our other differences behind. We can only hope this happens soon.

The 2014 International UFO Congress in Arizona

What a great event! Each year Open Minds seems to do it better and better!

Yes, I’m talking about the 23rd annual International UFO Congress (IUFOC) that was held in Fountain Hills, Arizona (near Phoenix) on February 12 – 16th. This was our 4th year attending the IUFOC and was just as good as ever. From the kickoff morning of Feb 12th through the last panel in the afternoon of Feb 16th, everyone was mesmerized with new information on the possibility of other worldly craft and beings visiting our planet earth.

We attended the Experiencer Sessions each morning with a group of people who believe they have had contact both in the past as well as currently. These sessions were led by licensed and very experienced hypnotists/therapists, Yvonne Smith and Gwen Ferrell. Many people chose to share their experiences with the group and were made to feel quite comfortable by the professionalism of Yvonne and Gwen. Some of what the contactees relayed to the group were what you’d expect, other experiences were quite sensational.

Open Minds IUFOC

The presentations began with Master of Ceremonies Alejandro Rojas welcoming the crowd and doing a marvelous job as usual. If you’ve ever listened to Alejandro’s podcasts, you’d recognize his professional yet light manner as well as his well thought-out introductions to upcoming speakers.

The speakers are way too many to list here, but you can find their biographies and presentation subjects at the UFO Congress’ website at ufocongress.com. A few that really did a marvelous job were:

Stephen Bassett – Stephen spoke about UFO disclosure and fascinated the attendees on the very first day. He’s a marvelous speaker and certainly knows what he is talking about and how to best proceed in order to obtain disclosure from our government.

Don Schmidtt – Don is yet another fantastic speaker and has done a phenominal amount of research on the 1947 Roswell Crash. He brought out information I had never heard of before, including information on the REAL Area 51 (it’s not in Nevada…)

Yvonne Smith – Yvonne not only led the experiencer sessions this year, but also put on a great presentation concerning her years of research on abductees. She was both interesting and captivating.

Dr. John Alexaner – John has very interesting information on what the government does/does not know about UFOs. While some will find what he presents questionable, he certainly does a great job of presenting the information and definitely has knowledge in the field.

George Noory – who could not think George would do a great job? George simply brought down the house Saturday evening and took a variety of interesting questions from the audience.  If you have not listened to George on Coast to Coast AM, you are missing out on much! And, there was a special appearance with George by Lee Speigel, writer and paranormal expert for the Huffington Post and last year’s IUFOC emcee.

On opening day, Wednesday evening, there was a Welcoming Cocktail Party in which you were able to meet the speakers and chat with them over a drink and snacks.

On Thursday and Friday evenings there were EBE Film Festival Screenings of the latest UFO and alien films that have been produced. As usual, they were well worth enjoying.

Then on Saturday evening the Awards Banquet was held… dinner with friends, old and new followed by the EBE awards on the films that were shown – the ‘Oscars’, UFO Congress style.

Open Minds IUFOC

All in all, the IUFOC is well worth attending if aliens and/or UFO research interests you. This is not a convention of tin-foil hat wearing people, but instead honest, intellectual researchers trying to find out the answers to what is out there. With a variety of authors, researchers, scientists, PhDs, therapists, ex-Heads of state, ex-military personnel, past government high-level employees and more, this has got to be one of the best, if not THE BEST, UFO conventions held annually anywhere. Keep an eye on their website, ufocongress.com, and try to attend next year’s conference, again in Fountain Hills, Arizona. You’ll find it very well worth doing so.

A Personal Sighting

I’ve been fascinated by space and the possibility of extraterrestrial life from a very early age, back to when I was around 8 years old. I collected photos and news articles about NASA and our space program, and read anything I could find on UFO and alien encounters. I would lay out at night in our yard and watch the stars, wondering what and whom was out there and if we’d ever meet them. I still do this today, albeit now it’s around a campfire with a cold glass of sparkling wine on warm summer evenings. I’ve become rather good at locating and tracking satellites as they meander across our night sky from horizon to horizon, at identifying which planets in our solar system are making an appearance and also at identifying a number of heavenly constellations. I jump at the opportunity to attend any lecture or presentation at our local observatory, still fascinated by what I can learn. Of course, I also salivate at the chance to attend conferences and seminars around the country with the subject matter being aliens and UFOs, but only the serious ones.

I’ve had 3 UFO sightings/events in my life thus far. I have no idea if those sightings were extraterrestrial craft being piloted by alien entities, if they were some yet to be revealed ship or weapon that the government possesses that I just happened to stumble across and witness, or even if they were something else entirely. However, I am relatively certain they were not misinterpreted natural phenomenon nor identifiable military or civilian aircraft. Instead they were, by definition, Unidentified Flying Objects, i.e. UFOs. There was a second person with me during the sighting I am going to relate to you tonight and she saw pretty much the exact same unexplainable thing that I did.

It was a brisk fall evening, somewhere around 8:30pm. My wife and I were coming home from Marshfield, WI, heading south on County Road M, near the small village of Auburndale. About 1/4 mile north of US Highway 10, we both noticed up in the sky in front of us a series of 5 lights, slightly angled upwards to the right, very similar to pictures of the infamous ‘Phoenix Lights’. My wife was driving so she stopped her jeep on the side of the road and we both stepped out to get a better view of these lights and try to figure out what they were. They flashed off, slowly, one at a time and did not come back on. The entire sighting lasted approximately 30 seconds. There was no indication that the lights were part of some solid craft as has been noted in other such sightings, but it was not a starry nor moonlit night so the outline of a craft would have been difficult to see. I estimated the height of the lights to be approximately 500 feet and the distance in front of us at around a mile or so. We noticed one other car behind us had stopped also to look at these lights, but at the time, unfortunately, we never thought of walking back to find out whom they were to discuss our sighting with them. A few minutes after getting in our vehicle and driving off, we decided to see if we could locate this other vehicle and compare notes. We drove around Auburndale for about 10 minutes looking but never did find them.

The next day we checked the newspaper to see if there was any mention of the lights in the sky from the night before — none. I contacted a Sheriff’s deputy whom was a friend of mine to ask if he knew of anyone who had reported this but he said it was the first he had heard of it. We watched the sky the next few evenings, but the lights did not return. Later that week in talking with another friend from work, he told me that he saw pretty much the exact same lights we did so we at least found 1 other witness to corroborate our sighting. To my knowledge, the lights never returned or, at least, I have never heard of anyone seeing them at a later time in the past 10 years.

Were they aliens? I don’t know. Was it an unknown military craft? I doubt it, yet that certainly is a possibility. Was it swamp gas, or Venus, or a reflection, or flares, or clouds? Absolutely not! In fact, it’s insulting to one’s intelligence at the mere mention of one of these idiotic possibilities that some people will insinuate. Bottom line is we saw lights that were in a strange, angled pattern in the sky that normally should not have been there, and they blinked off in perfect order in from what I could tell was an even-timed pattern. Since I do not know what they were, that is a text-book definition of a UFO.

It’s quite possible that our worlds’ governments knew, way back then in the 1960s (and most likely before) that we truly are not alone in this phenominally huge universe, but that there are many other forms of life out there, and some of them have, are and will continue to visit us here on Earth. If governments did know this, they’ve done a rather fine job of keeping it from the public. But, eventually the truth does come out as it seems to be doing, a little bit more year after year. Perhaps full disclosure is right around the corner. We enthusiastic UFO investigators would welcome this revelation with open arms.

Star Gazing and Pondering

While walking my dog this evening I looked up at the brilliant celestial bodies, showing themselves during this, the coldest of Wisconsin’s winters. Orion sits majestically in the eastern sky, the large crescent moon hangs opposite, just above the horizon, and Venus prominently stands out amongst the countless stars around her. I stood wondering how many civilizations out in the cosmos look towards our sun – just a dot in their evening skies – and how many are aware of Earth and its inhabitants.

If we assume that there are extraterrestrial beings who are aware of us, then we must also assume that they are more advanced than we are. This distinction makes me wonder if they view us as mere, ant-like creatures, or if they see us as beings that are worthwhile of investigation? If we are ants then I suspect they gander at us amusingly, becoming quickly bored at our seemingly meaningless running to and fro. But if they see us as worthy creatures, do they see us as intelligent? As disgusting? Frightening? Perhaps some combination?

After observing us they may decide, sadly, that we are too dangerous a species with which to make contact, because, surly, any civilization who has been in existence long enough to develop the kind of technology that interstellar travelers must possess has learned that evil, greed and war-mongering are not indicative of a sustainable and prosperous species. Perhaps that is why contact has not yet been made. Perhaps it never will be. Perhaps it would be self-destructive to contact beings who refuse to live together harmoniously, who plunder natural resources so casually, who hate other members of their own kind based merely upon race or religion, etc., and who value the accumulation of wealth at the expense of anyone or anything.

Will we ever know beyond all doubt that we are not alone in this universe? We send messages into space, hoping to reach intelligent life; notifying them of our existence; believing those messages will be, or have been, intercepted. But how they are interpreted is to be determined. Do they view our messages individually or as a collective, with every transmission speaking on behalf of all humankind? Do they even observe our messages, or do they observe only our actions? And if they are there to observe at all, do they do so as we do, or are their observations based on criteria that we either cannot understand or do not find significant?

The beauty of the night sky momentarily distracts me from my unanswered questions, as billions of stars shine down. The mysteries of space burst forth, creating new questions each time I gaze up. If we are being observed, perhaps the observer(s) came from a planet near a star in our own beautiful night sky.

Upcoming UFO Conferences

Two great UFO conferences that are upcoming you may want to look into and plan for:

October 17 – 20, 2013 Paradigm Symposium in Minnepolis, MN. Information here: http://www.paradigmsymposium.com

We’ve not yet attended this one, but the speaker lineup looks quite impressive.

February 12 – 16, 2014 International UFO Congress & Film Festival in Fountain Hills, AZ. Information here: http://ufocongress.com

We’ve traveled to the UFO Congress for the past years and can very highly endorse this event. The speakers are professional and quite scientific, ranging from physicist, to military, to government, to doctors, to lawyers and even TV personalities. The people attending are genuine, friendly and fascinating themselves. The venue is comfortable, inexpensive yet ‘classy’, easily accessible and very affordable. Alejandro Rojas, Jason McClellan and Maureen Elsberry and others do a fantastic job of planning and setting up this event. If you’ve never been to a large UFO event, you need to attend and experience this one.

What are Aliens?

Aliens

What are aliens?  Are they carbon-based “people” from another planet?  Are they just a more highly evolved humanoid species that originated elsewhere in the universe?  Are they even humanoid?  Could they be non carbon-based, say, silicon-based?  If so, would we even recognize them as life?  Do they have substance?  Is their makeup measureable?  Are they, perhaps, from a different dimension?  A different time?  Perhaps they are even us in the distant future?  Or, could they be us from pre-history?

There are so many possibilities one cannot help but wonder if we are even asking the right questions.  We tend to wrap things up in nice little balls of information that fit precisely into neat boxes that we understand, even though reality may not even be comprehensible to us.  Should we take a step back and look at the “are we alone” question again and try to come up with new, non ‘standard’ possibilities?  The key to our understanding could well be that we need to stop trying to fit aliens into these little boxes that we think we know about and let them appear to us outside of the box; in a different manner than we would ever think about on our own.  Just let them be whom or what they are, and see them in this new aspect.  Such
refocusing our wonder may be the key to the beginning of our true understanding of aliens.

Welcome!

Welcome to the new Talk2ETs Blog!

Talk2ETs, LLC is a for-profit business that very inexpensively sends digital messages into space at light-speed via commercial grade broadcasting equipment.  We are interested in helping you achieve making your thoughts and information as immortal as possible by sending it into space to travel forever and offer a variety of possible ‘levels’ to do this on.  More information is at our website at http://www.talk2ets.com .

All of us involved in Talk2ETs, LLC are also very interested in the Search of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (S.E.T.I.).  We support the scientific study of space exploration and recognize the immense possibility that there are other lifeforms in our universe.  Some of that life must be far in advance of our technology and could therefore have visited our planet in the past and quite possibly be visiting it currently.  There are too many UFO sightings by trustworthy people to all be hoaxes and misinterpretations.  Obviously, some percentage of claims are hoaxes.  Obviously, some percentage of sightings are unknown or misidentified aircraft of our own creation.  At the same time, obviously, some percentage must be technology or phenomenon that we are unfamiliar with.

All this said, thank you for visiting our blog and we hope you come back and participate often! The collaboration of many minds is a very beneficial thing to all involved!
